Flange check valve refers to a valve that automatically opens and closes the valve disc by relying on the flow of the medium itself, and is used to prevent the medium from flowing back. It is also called a check valve, a one-way valve, a counterflow valve, and a back pressure valve. The check valve is an automatic valve, and its main functions are to prevent the medium from flowing back, to prevent the pump and drive motor from reversing, and to release the container medium. Check valves can also be used on lines supplying auxiliary systems in which the pressure may rise above the system pressure. Check valves can mainly be divided into swing check valves (rotating according to the center of gravity) and lift check valves (moving along the axis).
The effect of this type of valve is to allow only the flow of medium in one direction, but also to prevent the flow in the direction. Usually such valves work automatically, with the valve disc open under the pressure of fluid flowing in one direction; when the fluid flows in the reverse direction, the valve disc acts on the valve seat by the pressure of the fluid and the self-coinciding valve disc of the valve disc, thus cutting off the flow.
