View More1. Determine the Media Characteristics
First, determine whether the medium being transported by the plastic pipe is water, oil, chemical solvents, or gas. Select materials based on its corrosiveness, viscosity, and temperature range. PPR is suitable for hot water, PVC for acid and alkali media, and PE-RT for low-temperature heating, etc.
2. Determine the Working Pressure and Temperature
Select the nominal pressure and temperature rating of the plastic pipe material based on the system design pressure (PN) and working temperature. Commonly used selection tables (such as GB/T 18252-2018) list the applicable range of different materials from -20℃ to 95℃.
3. Consider Installation and Connection Methods
Heat fusion, electrofusion, or mechanical connections each have their applicable ranges. Small-diameter pipes often use heat fusion, while large-diameter or high-pressure systems tend to use electrofusion or flange connections.
4. Balance Economy and Future Maintenance
Under the premise of meeting technical requirements, compare the unit price of materials, construction time, and maintenance costs to comprehensively evaluate the overall return on investment.
